The Sun Farmer Initiative aims to install a series of solar power generators that are strategically located in different time zones around the world, to harvest sunlight 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. This initiative provides an opportunity for anyone in the world to invest in and capitalize on our planet’s capacity to generate electricity from sunlight. The majority of harvesting centres are planned to be located in regions where this initiative compliments the vision of local authorities for accelerated adoption of distributed renewable resource generators.
The initiative benefits the industry by marrying up a novel form of financing – leveraged by networking power – with service providers that are attracted to collaborate through a strategy seeking to enhance the value chain. Current investor returns will likely increase with an increased demand for electricity and the increased cost of generating electricity via traditional means, e.g. fossil fuels. The cash flow of all stakeholders in this ecosystem is improved with regular micro-payments that are made possible by increasing the frequency of smart contract execution.
